Dear WP5 Partners,

Thank you to everyone who responded with their contact details. We now have the information we need to move ahead with the next steps on the reference PIC activity.

The Tyndall team will be in touch with each of the nominated contacts directly over the coming days to arrange short one-to-one discussions. These will be brief and focused, and are not intended to produce any design commitments at this stage.

For context, the overall plan we are working to is as follows:

  * Identify platform contacts – complete
  * Run short one-to-one discussions with each platform contact to gather initial input on platform maturity, interfaces, fabrication routes, and timelines – will start soon
  * Populate and agree a reference PIC planning table based on the inputs collected
  * Identify which platforms are best suited for early reference PICs and which are better placed for later phases
  * Define the scope and common building blocks for the reference PICs, including optical and electrical interfaces
  * Align design and fabrication schedules, and prioritise platforms that are ready to proceed
  * Progress through design, tape-out, and fabrication, starting with the most mature platforms

To keep things manageable and avoid overloading the WP5 mailing list, we will set up a dedicated email list with the nominated reference PIC contacts for ongoing discussions. Future correspondence on this topic will go through that list rather than the broader WP5 group. We will keep the WP5 group updated on progress at the regular meetings.

Finally, apologies to anyone receiving this email twice. I have copied in the designated reference PIC contacts directly, as I was not certain who is already on the WP5 mailing list.

Thanks again for your support on this.

Kind regards,
Padraic

Dear WP5 Partners,

Just a short reminder on the note below regarding technical contact points for the WP5 reference PIC discussions.

So far, we have received feedback from three partners. If you have not had a chance to respond yet, I would appreciate if you could share the relevant contact name and details for your organisation by close of business tomorrow.

This will allow us to move ahead with the next steps and line up brief one-to-one discussions for each platform.

Thanks very much, and please let me know if there are any questions in the meantime.

Kind regards,
Padraic

Subject: PIXEurope - Reference PICs – Platform Contact for Follow-Up

Dear WP5 Parters,

Following the recent WP5 discussion on reference PICs, we are now moving forward with the next agreed steps. These reference PICs will serve as simple, non-application-specific test vehicles that enable early work on packaging, interfaces, and testing, while helping to align design, fabrication, and packaging activities across WP4, WP5, and WP7.

As a first step, could you let us know who would be the most appropriate technical contact for reference PIC discussions within your organisation for the platform(s) you are involved in? This would typically be someone familiar with platform capabilities, interfaces, and fabrication planning.

For context, the current platform–partner groupings we are working from are:

  *   InP (TNO)
  *   Thin SOI (IMEC, UGENT)
  *   Thick SOI (VTT)
  *   SiN (UTWENTE, CSIC, CEA-LETI)
  *   SiC (FBK)
  *   Ge-on-Si (WUT)
  *   Al₂O₃ (UTWENTE)

This list is a first draft for orientation only and may need refinement.

At this stage, we are not asking for any technical input yet. Once the contact points are identified, we will follow up directly to schedule short one-to-one discussions to walk through scope, timelines, and constraints for each platform.

If possible, it would be helpful to have a name and contact details by close of business on Tuesday 27th January. You can see this information to me at padraic.morrissey at tyndall.ie<mailto:padraic.morrissey at tyndall.ie>.

Thanks everyone.

Kind regards,
Padraic
