[Pixeurope-wp5] PIXEurope WP5: Review and final inputs to D5.1 by Wed 4th Feb

Dear All,

The deadline for submitting D5.1 just passed, but we are still missing some inputs and couldn't submit yet. Thank you all who already provided inputs. Please all review the current version of the deliverable draft and check that your MPW technologies and scheduled are properly included there. Also add any missing inputs (highlighted in yellow). Keep Track Changes on. Do all this by the end of Wednesday 4th February, so that we can submit the deliverable without further delay.

Note that I have taken the liberty to somewhat revise the MPW technology descriptions to achieve consistency throughout the deliverable, and I also edited the introduction and executive summary a bit. In particular:

  *   Sub-chapter headings were edited to have similar style that indicates the main PIC offering, wafer size, related partner and the sub-type of the offering.
  *   Wafer sizes are expressed in metric units (e.g. 200 mm instead of 8").
  *   Numeric values and units are separated by space (e.g. 200 mm instead of 200mm).
  *   It is now clarified that PIXEurope only offers non-industrial MPW and prototyping services that are not meant for the manufacturing of commercial products.
  *   Path to commercial PIC manufacturing is now also discussed in the deliverable.

Major inputs/revisions are still needed from imec. Minor inputs/revisions are needed from TNO (Fig. 1 placement), CSIC (wafer size specification), FBK (spell out EOM and specify wafer size) and UTWENTE (specify wafer size and add MPW schedule).

Subject: PIXEurope WP5: Deliverable 5.1 still missing some inputs

We are still missing some inputs to deliverable D5.1, which should be submitted on Friday this week (!).

In particular, I'm missing inputs from imec for 220 nm SOI PIC offering and UTWENTE for AlO PIC offering. There was also no reply from POLIMI about their potential contribution to MPW offering. The schedule for the Ge-on-Si offering from WUT is also missing. I did receive input from UCAM about MPW offering based on graphene integration on 220 nm SOI, but in my opinion that should rather belong to WP6 where graphene and other "add-on" materials are integrated on the predefined monolithic PIC platforms. Feel free to comment on this.

We will review the deliverable in our steering committee meeting on Wednesday morning at 10 AM. It would be great if also the missing inputs would be added to the deliverable by then.

Dear All,

This is a reminder for replying to the email below and for providing material to the deliverable 5.1. Replies were asked by 15t January from all WP5 partners, even if they don't plan to offer any MPW services. The partners listed below have not yet replied or provided any material to the deliverable, so I ask them to urgently reply to this email and to tell if they are going to offer MPW services via PIXEurope or not. All who plan to offer MPW services must describe those in the deliverable and to provide an estimated schedule for the runs by 25 January. See the deliverable draft for more information and instructions. We need to submit the deliverable in January and all inputs must be in the deliverable by 25 January, so that we have a few days left to review and submit the deliverable.

Deliverable 5.1 "Schedule for MPW runs in PIXEurope" needs to be submitted in January and inputs are urgently needed from all PIXEurope partners that plan to offer MPW services for monolithic PICs in PIXEurope. In the past two monthly meetings (WP5) all partners were already asked to add their inputs to the deliverable draft by the end of December, but most inputs are still completely missing.  Please add your inputs to the draft before our next WP5 meeting (Tuesday 13th Jan, 3 PM CET), so that we can together review the inputs in that meeting. The deliverable draft includes instructions for providing the inputs.
