Thanks for providing further details on PIXEurope's planned activities at EFECS 2025 in Malta. I also noticed the workshop on skills when I reviewed the agenda last week, and I agree it looks very interesting. I'm afraid I won't be able to participate as I need to be back in Cork on the morning of 5 December and there are no suitable travel connections.

Dear all,

I'm picking up from Ana's email about Malta EFECS 2025 to provide a bit more information about our planned activities, as a few of you requested.

As you know, PIXEurope has been invited to host a stand at EFECS 2025 by ChipsJU, which we're already preparing with Sabine.

This year's theme is "Accelerate Innovation: Building European Competitiveness", with a strong focus on value-chain security, sustainability, emerging market opportunities and Europe's technological sovereignty via the ECS ecosystem. The agenda includes talks on policy (e.g. an update on the EU Chips Act), and workshops on pilot-line & project case studies (e.g., FAMES pilot line implementation). @Elisabeth<mailto:Elisabeth.Wintersteller at tyndall.ie>, there's also a dedicated workshop on skills, in case it's of interest:

This workshop will provide an overview of the ongoing projects on skills, spotlight existing best practices, and facilitate discussion on coordinated action to support talent pipeline development. Attendees will discuss gaps in the implementation of skills activities and ways to scale up initiatives to meet growing labour market needs.

Personally, I am particularly interested in the Case Studies from other Pilot Lines, and Sessions 2 and 3 sound quite interesting (2 - Emerging technology opportunities and applications in Europe and 3 - Review of the Chips Act, Policy, Funding and Strategic Alignment).

There's no pressure to attend as Ana, Alona and I have already volunteered to man the stand. However, I think it's quite important to showcase the decentralised and collaborative nature of the Pilot Line by having representatives from different institutions. Therefore, if anyone is free to attend and thinks they can get something out of the trip, we'd be very happy to welcome a fourth (or additional) person to the team. We understand, of course, that you may have other commitments.
